Our Clients

Our clients are homeowners just like you. Many live in older houses that leak air like sieves. Their homes are hot in summer and cold in winter, and their energy bills are out of sight. Some of our clients live in newer and supposedly more efficient homes, but the air conditioning makes the house feel cooler, but clammy. There are wide temperature differences between floors and the top floor is an oven in summer. The basement is always damp and musty. Moisture condenses inside the windows, causing mold to grow.

Here are some other scenarios we’ve discovered during our inspections:

  • Contractors who were hired to do repairs that unknowingly undid efficiency upgrades.

  • Furnaces with cracked heat exchangers that emitted dangerously high levels of carbon monoxide into the flue.

  • Crawl spaces with dirt floors that emitted soil gas, moisture, and outside air directly into the house.

  • A portable air conditioner that depressurized the basement space, causing carbon monoxide gas from the water heater to backdraft in the flue.

  • Water coming in around roof penetrations and leaking into walls, which led to extensive mold growth.

Whether your house is old or new, it may have hidden efficiency and safety problems that only diagnostic testing will reveal.
